Handwoven in Tuchin, in the northern coast of Colombia, our double Cañaflecha pouf is designed by Magnetic Mignight Maison for Cabana. A striped pattern and two toned palette in hand-dyed Cañaflecha, a reed traditionally used to make the emblematic ‘vueltiao’ hat, creates an elegant piece. Each fibre is braided into strips that are sewn together like a patchwork, typical of the heritage craft that dates back to Colombia’s Zenu culture when the designs on each braid were used to denote a clan within the community. Reinvented in this modern design, the pouf is a testament to the marriage of tradition and innovation that defines Cabana.

Two themes Mongiardino returned to again and again were Marquetry - inlaid wood veneers, and Pietra Dura - inlaid stones. For Cabana, D’Ascoli has created a sumptuous layering of faux bois marquetry and faux marbre pietra dura effects printed on linen and on hand-spun, hand-woven cotton with hand embroidery.
