Sudpsuez Lismore Castle: Food and Flowers from a Historic Irish Garden

$50.00

Words by Laura Burlington,

Photographs by Anna Batchelor,

Contributions by William Burlington

Overlooking the Blackwater Valley, Lismore Castle is home to the oldest formally cultivated gardens in Ireland, which are visited for their wild beauty and provide organic produce and flowers for the Castle. Written by Laura and William Burlington to celebrate their Irish home, this beautiful book explores the history and interiors of the Castle alongside its rich local food heritage and a modern take on classic Irish recipes.

As well as giving a glimpse into one of the great Irish house interiors and a short history of the castle, this book offers over forty recipes inspired by the Irish locality and the garden’s variety of produce including Irish Soda Bread, Beetroot Gravadlax fished from the Blackwater River, and an assortment of chutneys and jams.  With a farm to fork ethos, these recipes, created by the castle’s resident cook Teena Mahon, journey through the seasons and are made with what is fresh and available from the garden. The kitchen works hand-in-hand with Lismore’s gardeners, farmers and riverkeepers to oversee the ingredients’ short journeys to feed the Castle’s residents and guests.

Recipes and reflections from Lismore today are accompanied by stories of the extraordinary people – gardeners and artists, bishops and kings, and even one Hollywood star – who have designed, cultivated, celebrated, and shared the castle and garden over eight centuries.

With essays by Laura and William Burlington, who have taken on responsibility for Lismore Castle from William’s parents - the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire - and atmospheric photographs by Anna Batchelor, the book offers special insight into of one of Ireland’s most celebrated houses.

Sudpsuez Live With the Things You Love: And You’ll Live Happily Ever After

$55.00

Words by Mary Randolph Carter

With her trademark style and love of heirlooms and beautiful old objects, best-selling author Mary Randolph Carter delves into the interiors of real-life tastemakers (antique dealers, stylists, artists, and boutique owners) to explore how our homes are the perfect canvas for our self-expression.

Carter’s newest book indulges our desire to surround ourselves with belongings that impart beauty and meaning to our lives. Whether it’s a collection of pedigreed antiques, a set of memorable paperbacks from our childhood, or a distinctive teapot gifted to us by a friend, this book is a tribute to valuing and making artful interiors with our treasures.

In these pages, Carter curates a variety of unique interiors, from a couple who lives on an island in Maine with patinaed objects they’ve rescued from the French countryside, to a fashion designer in rural Rhode Island whose collection of vintage prints inspires her work and interiors, to a photographer whose most prized possessions include a weathered photograph of his parents on their honeymoon.

Carter muses delightfully on what our prized possessions tell us about ourselves, while imparting her philosophy and tips for integrating our treasures stylishly into our decor. Chock-full of ideas and inspiration, this book celebrates her highly personal and creative approach to decor, illustrating how to live stylishly with the items we cherish the most and want to live with forever.

Sudpsuez London Living by Karen Howes and Simon Upton

$75.00

Published Date: Sept 2023

Written by Karen Howes

Photographs by Simon Upton

Foreword by Nicky Haslam

London Living presents a unique look into the homes of London-based interior designers, antique dealers, musicians, and influencers, revealed by leading interior design photographer Simon Upton.

Following the success of his first book, New York Interiors, Simon Upton turns to London—a city in which he has been based for most of his working life. Exploring an incredible range of homes in this vibrant city, Upton looks behind the scenes into the private spaces of creatives and influencers.

Presented in two parts, the book begins with “Town,” which is devoted to the homes of those who live solely in London, such as grandee of interior design John Stefanidis; House & Garden’s Interior Designer of the Year 2019, Maria Speake; industrial designer and architect Tom Bartlett; fashion designer Bella Freud; model Poppy Delevingne; and antiques dealer and interior designer Adam Bray. Then, “Country” showcases those who divide their time between London and a retreat in the British countryside, which includes names such as antiques dealers Jorge Perez-Martin and David Gibson, known together as Brownrigg; film director Gaby Dellal; and designer Jasper Conran.

Edited by interior design writer Karen Howes and featuring a foreword by iconic decorator and Upton’s friend Nicky Haslam, London Living reveals a series of unique locations, each illuminated by an interview in which the owner defines their true meaning of “home.”
